I would like to know if the size of this remote has gotten any complaints from the wives. It seems to be pretty hefty, of which I wouldn't mind, but I'm not sure how my wife would like it. I'm using a URC8090 now and she complained about it's size at first, but seems ok with it now.

Does the semi tabletop design take some time to get used to, or do most of you just set it on your armchair while you use it?

Thanks

As a former (unmarried) 8090 user with a roommate and couch-potato friends, after everyone got (rather quickly) acclimated with the Sony, nobody seemed to have missed the 8090.

I have found that unless you're Shaq, its definitely not a leave-it-in-your-hand device, so if that's important, think twice. Also, if you're used to not-line-of-sighting the 8090, or using it completely by feel, that's another consideration.

The Sony's greater compatibility with my stuff was enough to sway me personally.

My wife was not exactly thrilled by the extra size of the 2000...(for once, bigger was NOT better)...but I programed the 3 programable buttons to do a variety of things she was used to doing manually by pressing a zillions buttons and she has ended up really liking it.

I didn't think that wives were allowed to touch the remote anyway.

Just kidding... married 16 years.
