Does anyone know if it will support c-band satellites? I have a General Instruments receiver and have lost one of the remotes for it. (the infrared one, I still have the RF remote) The large dishes have different commands from the DSS dishes. Do you need an existing infrared remote to "teach" it new commands?

You can use a label that's somehow related to the function you're trying to perform. For instance, I control a C-Band satellite receiver which is not directly supported. One of missing lables is "satellite". So I use ANGLE, which for me is the "ANGLE in the sky" where the satellite is located. Anyway, you'd be surprised at how quickly you get used to using a different lable. Another approach is to use label location and ignore the text of the label all together. Use whatever method works better for you.
Unfortunately, you do need the original remote to program the Sony remote. C-Band receivers are not supported out of the box.
