I have a Sony SA-VA55 sound system (5 speaker surround sound unit). If I buy a RM-VL900, can I program it to work with my surround sound system?

Should work fine, but it likely won't be preprogrammed.

I recently ordered a Sony Remote Control, 7-in-1 AV Compatible Remote Control, MPN RMVZ320. Sony Tech support says this will work with my SA-VA55, excluding a few functions-but there is no promise that it will work at all.
Will the RMZV320 work, if yes what funtions dont work.
The RM-VL900 works you say, what is the difference between these two remotes.
Functions Needed: Power, Input, Volume

Also will both of these replacement remotes work for new Blu Ray Players & Comcast DVR functions?
