I am thinking of getting this remote control... I have one question, does the LEARN Feture allow you to point your orginal remote at the Sony and assign a button on the Sony to correspond with the orginal button on the remote?

I'm not sure I get this one... do you mean will it learn buttons? Yes. You want to learn the "play" button for your VCR? No problem.

For example, I have a Sanyo VCR that has an input button that I use quite often. I would like to program the Sony to be able to use that button. So the question is, If I enter the 2-digit code for a Sanyo VCR, and by default the Sony remote does not have a key assigned to that input button, can I then make the Sony learn that input button?

Hope this helps

Yes... you can use any combination of preprogrammed/learned signals, but you can't change the default label of a button.
