I just got the oneforall homeproducer 8,
It looks really cool but I have some problems with it (see below). I saw the Sony and I'm wondering if it would work where the oneforall did not. Can anyone comment if the Sony will work for me?
Here's the problems I had with the oneforall 8:
1. My Sony VPL W400Q LCD projecter was not compatible. 2. The controller only mapped a few of the functions of my DVD player (almost usless). 3. I was unable to use the video imput select on my Sony VCR with the remote.
Can the Sony over come these? The biggest problem I find with Universal Remotes is the lack of "buttons" which result in a loss of features.
Is there a version that uses Radio as well as IR?

You can do everything in questions 1,2 and 3 as long as you have a remote to teach the AV2000 with.
You cannot change the button names on the AV2000.
There is only an IR version of the remote currently.
I've had mine for almost 2 months and really enjoy it.

Jim have you looked at a 'PHILIPS PRONTO' IR control.... could solve all your problems..no disrespect to the SONY ( I hava a sony TV).
read the review on this site & look at the chat board... The main initial diff. is cost $145 v $350
but if you got to live with the dam thing you want one that makes you happy :) be your friend & make the coffee... :) john :)
