Well, I have read a few post saying that this remote will not control anything on this reciver.

It's just hard to believe that Sony "the s-link" people would make this kind of mistake.

Does anyone know if there is any kind of "fix" to get this remote to at least change the Volume on the receiver?

Maybe I should just return the Remote and wait for Sony to release the next version which works with the Vision touch receivers...

Thanks,
MT

Don't hold your breath - I don't know what Sony's plans are with VisionTouch receivers, but I doubt they're going to spend the time to release a universal remote that'll work with them. The only "fix" involves adding an IR circuit board to the receiver, something which I don't recommend and have no further info on - it was mentioned on this forum some time ago.

Oh, well it sounds like it works with the 50ES? I guess I will send back my 90 and get it.

Sounds like a better deal anyways, get the 50 my remote will work, save $200 and the 50 has DTS built in.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't both the 50ES and 30ES have 'bidirectional' remotes? I recall seeing a thread on here someplace about using the AV2000 on a 50. Perhaps the 2000 will work just for remote purposes but it won't do the feedback the original ones do.

FWIW, I use mine with my 80ES, and it works beautifully.

I believe only the 50ES comes with the bidirectional remote. While many functions can be programmed off the 50ES remote, I believe some can't.
