I thought I'd pass this on...The AV2000 does not have the Echostar sat. receiver in the code list. However, I WAS able to program from my sat. remote with a few small quirks.
If I program the 2000 with my sat. remote by "pressing and holding" my sat. remote buttons until the sony beeps, you have to press the sony remote buttons for about 1/2 second for the receiver to respond (a tap will not work). On the other hand, if I programmed the sony by "pressing and releasing instantly" my sat remote buttons, a tap of the sony will work just fine, but you will not be able to hold and repeat, to scroll through channels for example.
So, I used the "press and release method" for numbers, guide, info, execute, and other buttons that you would never want to hold and repeat anyway. Then I would "press and hold" method when programming the channel buttons so I could change channels while holding the sony button.
Maybe this is the case with some other remote out there too. I just thought I'd pass this along.

Heh, I guess there's an exception to every rule. You'll probably find that the "press and release" method uses more memory, though.

Of quirky items...we (my wife and I) have found only one. The "ENTER" button (in the middle of the arrow buttons) on our Sony DSS remote can act odd. Sometimes it works with a tap....other times you need to hold it down. I have re-programmed the key several times on the AV2000, and get the same results. I even tried a different remote! (My Sony TV remote emulates the DSS). Anyway...it is a very minor issue, and both myself and "the wife" (wow!) are very happy with the AV2000.
