I've been thinking about purchasing the Sony RM-AV2000 but have a question for someone that already owns one or has dealt with one. According to all my literature and this web site, the Sony RM-AV2000 is a LCD touchscreen. According to my local retailer, it IS NOT a touchscreen. They state that it is just an LCD screen and that you use the hard buttons on the remote to move between selections on the LCD screen. Which is it?

I'd be wary of that retailer, since it most obviously is a touchscreen.

Yes...Daniel and the rest of this website is correct...it is a touch screen. I have had mine on a 'trial' basis for about a week now, and have decided to keep it. I believe that you will really enjoy it if you purchase one. You should be aware of the fact that you can purchase it off the internet for $130.00, including shipping. Don't let this 'retailer' mess with you about the price. As far as what I use mine for: 2 Sony TV's, Sony VCR, Sony DSS, Kenwood Receiver, Sony CD, Panasonic DVD. It works with all of then perfectly.

One nice thing about the AV2000 is it still keeps some of the basic principals of remotes with physical buttons: all functions are available at the same time, and it's really quick to operate.
