was wondering if the av2000 controlled only Harman Kardon cd players (as listed) or if it could control receivers as well. My system consists of an H/K AVR20II head, H/K FL8450 CD changer, Sony ES CD trans, and Denon single well deck, and a panansonic tv and RCA/Proscan VCR. Will the 2000 control all of these devices?

Hmm, that's interesting. I just double-checked with my manual, and sure enough it looks like they only pre-programmed H/K CD players. For your receiver you'd have to program the codes in.

Of your other equipment, obviously most of the CD buttons you need are pre-programmed, Ditto with the other CD, Denon tape decks are built-in, same with the TV & VCR. So, most everything's already there, what isn't can be learned.

I've had this problem with other non-learning remotes (ie, 12-in-1) and recently learned the reason: H-K chose IR frequencies above the range of many older remotes. Why? No good answer yet, perhaps to sell that new remote?

The best "cheap" remote I've found that will even learn H-K is the Xantec for about $50.
