Hello,

I have installed thousands of Directv systems, but installed my 1st 5 lnb dish yesterday at my house.

Goog signal on all sats except the 99. I am getting no signal at all on 99. If I remember right, it is not on yet. I faintly remember reading somewhere that it was not active yet, or, should I be getting signal from this bird ????????????????

All other sats are 90 or greater.

Did you tell setup that 99 was installed ?
I think it's the next page after LNB selection.
If you said yes, then on the transponder signal page, almost all the transponders will have n/a except for 4 or 5 which should have signal strength numbers.
If you said no during setup then all will have n/a. For now, I think only about 4 or 5 transponders are active on 99.

Those are killer numbers for pointing a 5LNB. What did you use? a Birddog?

Not "Comfortably Broke" anymore just plain broke.

No birddog. I have been doing the commercial version of Direcway for the lottery for years and am very familiar with pointing dishes at hard to find sats. I am also in Florida where the signal strength is normally a little higher on some sats than up north. I used a standard sat meter.

I ran setup again, the other sats referred to after the lnb type are the 72.5 and the 92. when I go to signal strength on the 99 it says 0 transponders on 99 (Net). I think this means that it is not yet active as all of the other sats say at least 24 transponders on them.

I bet Directv is coming out with a firmware upgrade when this sat becomes active.

I am in Northern Virginia and in this area all we see is the 103 bird. Nothing on the 99.

If you are going to do the job...why not do it the right way?
