The Sony remote is both IR & RF, but will only do one mode at a time that is selectable in the menu. Thus it will only work with your Pronto when in IR mode. (unless someone has made a pronto that does RF)
The RCA 480 will do IR & RF simultaneously, so it's a better choice if you want to use both.
