Hi:

I tried all the suggested codes listed with the Sony RM-Y802 to control my Hitachi VCR but have had no luck.

Anybody have a suggestion?

Thanks,

Steve

Hmm, how old is the VCR? I've had pretty good success with my Hitachi VCR & Sony equipment, however if you have it set to "VCR B" you'll find very few remotes will work.

The VCR is 3 years old. What is "VCR B"? I don't know if it is set to it. The Sony remote came with the SAT50D model of receiver. It uses RF but can be switched to IR.

Thanks

Some Hitachi VCRs had both A & B code sets (so you could run two in the same room). I have two, and the Code B set is very rare to find on a pre-programmed remote. Just a thought in regards to your problem. I know recent models don't have this. You've come across the real problem with pre-programmed remotes: if what you need isn't there, it simply isn't there.

With that said, I'm surprised it doesn't work. I don't think Hitachi has changed it's main code set in years and years.
