I was at a local Radio Shack and the rep was informing me of the Terk42 antenna that attaches to the back of the satellite. The antenna has an in and out feed for the coax connections. I am assuming that the local channels can be viewed by switching between antenna and dish on the remote control. Any information on this product or any other comparable product would be appreciated. Thanks.

It can work. But it's more expensive than antennas that usually work better. I often shop at starkelectronic.com since they have a decent website for antennas.
