Several new channels have been introduced since I got my Platinum receiver, but the guide doesn't show their logos, just the channel numbers.
Does DirecTV ever download firmware upgrades for graphics or other things to these boxes? If so, does the receiver have to be "off" to get the upgrade? I leave mine on all the time.

What specific channels are you talking about?
I recently got 2 Hughes Gold receivers so I could check my channel guide to see if the logos are there on mine.
I don't know for sure, but it's likely you have to turn the receiver off for a while to get those logos since on mine you have to turn it off to get the Watchword thing to find all the shows you're looking for.
