DISH PVR 501 remote vs. RCA F38310 HDTV

I own the DISH PVR 501 and have been successful hooking it up and getting the remote to work with my stereo, DVD player and TV. I actually have 2 Platinum remotes (they have UHF and infared capability). One works PERFECTLY with my JVC TV and the other works just OK with my RCA F38310 38" HDTV (16x9).

Here is my problem:
On the new RCA HDTV we have we have tried all the codes listed in the manual and can make the remote change the channel, power off, control the volume, BUT we can't make the remote change from TV to VIDEO mode (since I use VIDEO mode for the DVD connection using SVIDEO cable). I have a feeling that this TV was developed and released subsequent the the development and release of the Platinum remote that comes with the PVR 501. Do you know of anywhere to look for REMOTE codes for the remote that I can try that might be more compatible?

*side note* The RCA tv we have has a BUILT IN DIRECTV satellite receiver...I wonder if they PURPOSELY made that TV difficult to work with DISH remotes? Please advise ...I'm stumped :-)

THANK YOU!
