Hello,

I have my 4922 connected via optical cable to my Denon AVR-3300. When using the Recall button on my UHF remote, I lose the audio on the channel switched to quite often. I then have to hit Recall again then one more time to regain the sound on the channel that I want. Anyone else with this problem? Thanks

I have the same problem with my 4922 as well. I have the same setup as you but I have to go into the setup menu to the Dolby Digital and click Save to get the saound back. I can't remember the exact menu there but it broadcasts in Digital and PCM(I think). I thought ot was just me...

Marcus,

I am thinking something has been updated on my 4922 in the last few days. I switched between the NCAA tournament and golf all weekend with no problems. Maybe there was a software upgrade late last week.

Is this only a 4900 problem? I still have the 4700 and will be using DD pretty soon. I'm wondering if any 4700s have had the problem.

I have been using a Denon AVR 5600 with a 4700 receiver connected via a Monstercable optical cable. While I have not expierienced any sound loss I have had trouble with a distorted audio signal.Intermittant like You have described, I could remedy the problem by disconnecting and reconnecting the cable but that was only a temporary fix. After exchanging the 4700 receiver five times and taking the AVR 5600 back to Denon(who could find nothing wrong with it)I cancelled my satelite subscription.Has anyone else had this problem?

I understand the 4700 SAT recievers do not handle DD5.1 very well as many on other message boards are complaining of pixelation during broadcast.

Swithching the 4922 to "PCM only" in the dolby digital setup menu fixes this problem.

Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that remove DD sound? The whole point of the optical output is to get 5.1 surround.

You're right Spiky but Ecostar hasn't been able to solve this issue yet:(

I have the 4700 and have no problems with DD broadcasts. At one time, the Starz channel was experienceing some intermittent problems with the sound on its DD broadcasts but this seems to have been corected. Stan
