I am trying to help a friend install a Philips/Tivo 20 hr recorder with his AT&T Philips Digital Broadband Cable Box in Jacksonville Fl.

We cannot get the Tivo to change the Cable Box channels (using IR signals). I called Tivo tech support and they confirm that they do not have the information to make the Philips Tivo control the Philips cable box and when they try to capture the signals with their Philips Pronto, they are unsuccessful.

Given that we are talking about three Philips products here, I would have thought that Tivo could get the right information, but apparantly not.

AT&T Broadband in Jacksonville claims they have never even heard of Tivo. Bought the Tivo at Circuit City and they also are of no help.

Any suggestions?
