I am sure that anyone who has tried to make the sony A50 work RF has run in to the same things that we have.
It only works for about 10 feet or if you hold it upside down or place it in your bald head upside down while holding your left arm out at a 90 degree........................................
Well the other day me and one of my fellow audio/video installers decided to crack open the remote!!!(a swiss army knife and about 10 minutes and maybe a beer)
Inside we found a board with 3 trimmer pots so like anyone else we turned the big one a half turn to the right and moved the transmitting wire to the top of the remote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOW IT WORKS SO GOOD THAT I AM AFRAID TO LAY IT IN MY LAP..............
YOU may want to tape some batteries together with some aligator clips and play with the setting on the trimmer pot.
I have talked to someone high up at sony and they said they will address it along with the discrete on/off
