Hello everyone.

I'm new to this forum. I really hope I don't offend anyone on this site. But, I'm a totally newbie in this subject. But, I'm really thinking about getting rid of my cable and attempting to obtain as much tv as possible through antenna (indoor or outdoor) and using Netflix,Hulu or other options.

I'm just looking for any information or suggestions toward which antenna I should purchase to get the best results.

I live near McMaster University - Postal Code - L8S 2Z2 if that helps

Again, sorry for the newbie info request...

Cheers,

There are antennas referred to as 8bay antennas. More than one brand available.
Should be around $70 - 100 range depending on where you buy.

Some key things to consider.
Best results require the antenna to be outside and up high.

Go to www.tvfool.com lots of great info here to help you understand what you may or may not be able to receive based on your location and antenna type.

A combination of antenna and Apple TV / Roku or WD Live box (or Smart TV features) can go along way to giving you plenty to watch.

In Burlington I can receive around 23 channels from local and US stations.

Buy an 8-bay (<$50), go as high as possible, stack the 4-bays one on top of the other(rather than side by side)and do not use an amp. Aim one at the CN tower and one at Buffalo. Works for me.
