I'm installing a samll theater system for my kids. I have the projector, dvd, ect, that all works fine. However I had a 6-7 yearold digitakl stream tuner and when I attach it to the cable feed it says it only has a 49% signal strength and willnot find a single channel. I attach one of my new TV's with a built in tuner and it finds 40+ channels.

I even tried one fo the digital converter boxed that sell at best but and it did not find a single channel. Any idea what the issue might be or what kind oif tuner I need to make this work?

Cable vs off air are diffferent modulation systems, the old digital tuner only has maybe ATSC not QAM what the cable system needs. The new tv sets have both tuners.

Next question, are the channels received on the cable system digital or still have old analog channels.

More info would be needed
