As cable progressed, it went from a max of 350 mhz to 450, then 550... last time I looked, I don't even remember the highest frequency, but cable went to channel 125.

Anybody know offhand how high the frequencies go these days? There's a question about splitters in the Custom Installer forum.

I think the next steps in cable technology are 750MHz, 860MHz and 1000MHz. But it all depends on what's in use in your particular area.

I answered in the other forum put I'll put it here also in case someone hits this via search. The cable system here (COX) is now up to 1 GHz as of last month. I checked, I think it was the DIY-HD channel the other day and it was at 967 MHz. There are a couple of other channels up there also. That will really test you splitters, coax, etc. I was doing this from memory so thought I better look to make sure: it is actually: Frequency 961.750 MHz
