Anyone here using an HD Homerun? I just bought the newest model (I'm building a MythTV box) and though I could get WYNO with the antenna plugged directly into my LG, I'm not getting it with the antenna plugged into the HDHomerun.

Any ideas?

UPDATE: They released a new beta firmware for the hdhr3 a couple of days ago. Fixed the scan issue.

I've had an HD Homerun for about a year now. The receivers in the HDHR aren't quite as sensitive as my television sets. Not aware of any scan issues - mine scans just fine. In fact it makes TV DXing quite easy. I'm splitting my VHF/UHF signal twice before it hits the HDHR and it still finds all the channels though. Curiously enough, it finds more sub-channels than my TV. For instance, WXXI's re-transmission of the radio station with the groovy graphics shows up on subchannel 200 or some such thing.

I built a MythBuntu box and it worked first time - I gather this is the exception rather than the rule. Hopefully you're also so lucky.

Could you try it on Mint,PCLinuxOS and Mandriva, please?

I'm curious on the results.

Not a chance. If it ain't broke don't fix it I say. Heard too many tears of despair from other would-be MythTV users.

FWIW, HDHR works fine on my XP and Vista machines in both QuickTV & Media. Windows2000 is a little shaky though.

Bruce,
I am curious as to why you would ask someone to try building a mythbox on Mint (PCLinuxOS and/or Mandriva (Magiea??) when your sig shows you are using Mint. Is this just trying to find out if someone else had a hard time/easy time too?

FWIW, I've been using successive Fedora installs since about Fedora Core 4 for my box. Presently on Fedora 14 using a myth git master pull from about 2 months ago. I'm going to stay on F14 until the changeover to systemd and the lirc kernel changes all percolate through to the 3.1 kernel before I upgrade, although I used to do that quite rapidly.

And of course, after all of the digital switchover has settled out!.

Just curious, not as much time for fiddling with things anymore, since I haven't yet considered buying a HDHR yet but rather than make any more HTPCs, go for a DIVCO TViX 6620N instead.

W2K largely runs my legacy gear like the MDP-130s.
