Hi All, if you look at the end of 2010 you'll see some posts where I was working with various antennas. Since I've started here's a few updates. All subjective tests using CM7777 at the top and 100' of RG-6. With a 3 ' patch between antenna and pre-amp

1. I'm in the northeast end of Guelph at 40 FT and have run up a number of different antennas to test with. The hardest stations to receive here are 57.1 and omni 1 and omni 2. I'm testing with the CN tower only at this time. Please note: I do receive a number of other HD signals, but these are the toughest.
( have yet to see global on 41.1 but analog is strong as a horse here!)

1. CM 4221 Pretty good 57.1 or omni 1 or 2 very spotty but good in cold weather.
2. CM 4228 Expected it to pick up the shortcomings again from this location, however this antenna was worse!!! (shouldn't be but very poor no 57.1 at all)
3. Digiwave 2190 built well, could receive omni 1 and 2 in toronto no channel 57.
4.Digiwave 2190 built pretty well. WOW works well. receive omni 1 perfect onmi 2 perfect. 57.1 is spotty with pixillation but went from no signal strength to 30 - 35 %

I'm currently getting ready to rig up a XG91 (purchased 2 on Sunday in London) hopefully installed at the end of the week.
It's assembled and in the garage ready to go.
Providing the roof is dry and I can get it mounted and positioned I should be able to post up on Saturday.

Anyhow, I know there are a few in Guelph but not many posting up.
So here's some thoughts

Okay, the weather Gods have smiled on me and I have the XG91 up and mounted and peaked on channel 57.1 and it is SOLID.

Overall, I have to admit that the long yagi Digiwave 7285 is pretty close!

I know this is subjective but my channel 57.1 came up 10% when compared against the XG91.

Just to let you all know, I managed to swap the antenna out in about 15 minutes.
I doubt conditions would have changed that much in that time frame to cause a 10% difference in signal strength.

I'll be mounting up the second XG91 for my channels 2.1/4.1/7.1 with a separate preamp and coax. ANd will feed it to my ATSC tuner in my satellite/PVR receiver. The ATSC tuner in the satellite receiver is more sensitive then my Panasonic Viera.

Will keep all advised
cheers
