Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone is able to get in Global 41-1? I live in a city just west of Toronto and I can't seem to get it in. It's just a black screen. I can however get Toronto channels such as CTV and CBC. I also get City TV and Omni but those channels seem to break up a lot.

Global can be tough to get, but I'm getting it in St. Catharines. If you manually add channels to your TV try adding channel 65. It should come up on channel 41.

How about CITY? I can't get them in the south end of town, but I got it for someone in the north end of the city.

CITY tv breaks up really bad here. I can get a picture but it's very choppy and the audio breaks up too. This also used to happen with CTV but now CTV is perfect. I think they've improved their signal somehow...

try relocating the antenna or aiming in other directions. give us more details of your setup. I get it plus all canadian chs fine in mississauga with a cheap (20 USD) but very good IMO small powered outdoor Monoprice.com antenna. CTV and CBC are the highest powerd canadian digita lstations in the GTA. Well the OMNIS comes in strong as well. UHF signals propagation is affected by weather and atmospheric conditions so is normal to see them vary in strength even in 24 cycles while the TX power stays the same.

I have not been able to get Global on 41-1 since February at least. I live in East York, just east of downtown Toronto with a Channel Master antenna and rotor, no set box and an LG HD TV.

I'm in Guelph and I can get everything off the Tower fine with the EXCEPTION of 41.1 Global.

My Global 41 analog is rock solid with no snow or echo but No luck with the 41-1
channel.

best of luck, at least people in Toronto confirm that it's there but it must be extremely low power relative to the other stations ( or it's having a height issue)

thanks for the info

This is probably of no value to you, but in Caledon 41-1 is 100% with good signal strength on both my LG and Sony.

In the Duffin's Creek area 65.1 aka PSIP 41.1 is ok.
The news set is virtual, and the show is 16x9 - though the stories may be DV4x3.
The signal they are pumping out is about 3kw to 5kw.
In September, 41.1 will be on 41.1; at a 100 kw.

The CBC will not be doing any transitioning onto 33.1, but staying on 16 for the 16.1 slash cut. WGRZ is on 33.1 and may go to 100 kw; don't hold your breath.
