I have a slimline 3 dish, a 6-8 switch, a hr23-700 receiver and b band converters. when I go to satellite setup and choose slimline3 dish, multiswitch it still tells me not to install b band converters, with or without them installed i receive all the channels but when i switch to an hd channel it says searching for satellite signal on 2, any ideas??????? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you in advance.

searching for sat signal on 2? . if it means on only 2 of the HD channels then more likely you just to fine tune your dish and aim it better, maybe those 2 channels are on the same TP thst your dish does not receive well. BTW , welcome.

I'd like a bit more clarity.
I think there are more than one model of multiswitch with "6" and "8" in the model number. What's the brand and whole number?

You "receive all the channels but"... "it says searching for satellite signal on 2...." That's contradictory.

I take it you mean it says searching when you go to channel 2, right?

Also, you seem to be saying that you get totally identical results on all channels with or without the B Band converters. Did I get that right? I've found that the signal screens, where signal level is given for all transponders, is best for determining this.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

sounds to me like the dish isnt fully alinged? you need to use a GOOd meter for alignment of any DTv HD style dishes either the slimlines or the slimline swms

R.W., welcome to the site. Any dealer or seller who is totally upfront about their having a financial interest in answers, who nonetheless just gives answers, is not only totally welcome, but also a valuable member!

As I read that last post -- the worthless, or at least irritating, commercial member would say "I need to come out there and use a good meter." You say "you need to use a good meter." There's the difference!
