Hello.

I'm trying to decide between a Channel Master 4221HD ([Link: tinyurl.com]) and a Digiwave ANT 2086 ([Link: tinyurl.com]) and I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions on one versus the other?

I'll be mounting on the roof of a garage with good line-of-site (in Toronto) to the CN Tower and Buffalo (plan on aiming it in between two). Primarily I'm concerned with UHF but am also keeping in mind the transition next year and some of the stations moving to hi-band VHF.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Kristin.

tech direct has an 8-bay for 34 bucks. The best buy.

there are fundamental design flaws on the digiwave model.
digiwave 4 bay works, but if your picky on little things that can
cause problems, you're better off to go with the Channel master.
(the same thing goes for the 8bay version.)

1. the digiwave balun is not in the electrical center of the antenna. (the upper half signal arrives at balun before the lower half arrives at balun)
2. and the conductors running to the elements are different lengths.
3. the Digi elements are shorter than the CM. this cuts the signal bandwidth down starting at ch22 and down.
Gimmy my HDTV and no one gets hurt!
