I am in Mississauga area, I am getting NBC HD but it only works in late night hours roughly after 10:30PM, never works during the day (one odd day it worked). Not sure what is the reason.

Had similar issue, someone suggested it was the daytime heat and cooler lake temperatures causing localized tropo. Repositioning my antenna solved the issue.

My suggestions are to raise the antenna and try to re-align. Its possible you are sitting in a destructive null. My reception (Caledon) has been very good through the heat wave.

If i re-align the antenna towards Buffalo I loose reception of City TV and may 1 or 2 other CN Tower stations. Right now I am pointing to CN Tower and getting all available canadian channels and few US channels from Buffalo (but they come and go).

Just raised the height and re-aligned a bit and I am getting very reliable reception plus getting couple of more channels.

Do you have a pre-amplifier on your rig, Ranaji? If not, this may be the magic bullet to bring in the remaining stations. I get choppy reception of the south Buffalo stations with mine disconnected.

Also, while some people claim summer is better for reception, I find warm weather almost kills my extreme south Buffalo reception. Very often I can't get much more than Grand Island in the warm months, but as fall comes around it starts opening up again.

Wow, who'd a thunk that digital TV transmission would return us to the bad old days of experimenting with antenna positioning and such as we had in the fifties?

At least now we've got solid state amps. It must have been REALLY hard to make tube amps for UHF bandwidths where a quarter wavelength can be four inches and amplifying tubes were more than an inch high!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
