I am using a 4 Bay Outdoor Antenna, getting all Toronto based channels and all channels available from Grand Island tower except Fox (WUTV), what should I do to get it?

I have 2 connectors in the cable I am using (total length over 50ft to TV), does that make any difference? Height of Antenna is around 12-15ft from ground.

Any help appretiated.

What kind of cable is it? RG59 or RG6?

WUTV can be hit and miss in the GTA. For me in Markham, it's one of my strongest Buffalo channels. For others at similar distances... barely registers.

At any rate, a preamp WILL be useful for long distance reception. I would recommend a quality model that doesn't overload easily. Also, if you can get your antenna higher that would be good as well... 12-15 feet isn't particularly ideal for doing much more than local pickup.

I am using RG6 cable, I am also thinking of increasing the height a bit but the thing is I am getting all the channels from Buffalo just one Fox is not coming in, and I have to joins in the cable (2 connectors) thinking of replacing it with one good RG6.

I will give it a try.

If the joins are *bad* they won't help, but if they're good there won't be too much of a difference.

Yap, I changed the cable still not getting WUTV, height is now may be 20FT from ground, no luck with WUTV. I think I will look for some preamp.

You might be in a dead zone - WUTV doesn't send too much power to the north. But trying a preamp would be worth it. Don't get a Source or crummy unit, see if you can get a Channel Master 7775, 7777 or 7778 (I use the latter).

These CM pre-amps are comptible with any outdoor antennas or do you need CM antennas to go with it? I am using EagleStar Outdoor Antenna.

That could be part of your problem - switch to a Channel Master Antenna. Also, if you are near the lake you may want to try a two-antenna set-up with a joiner. From West Mississauga to Burlington, we usually do such a set-up.

I still can't get FOX either. It came in perfectly before they went digital, now nothing.
