Which remote are you using? If you want the codes for the Pronto NG, just look inside the files [Link: remotecentral.com] The H21 codes are the same as the H20 codes, and the HR2x codes (although the DVRs have some extra codes the receivers don't use).
Here [Link: remotecentral.com] are the files for the Pronto professional series

im actually not using a remote this time. It is an audio system that i am using that has IR out ability and for some reason the codes for directv are not in the programing database for this audio system, but i have the ability to type in the hex codes for it.

You can get the hex codes from the files referenced by texasbrit. Go to the links he mentions, download the files, in that section download and install the editor for the remote those files are made for, and then open up the file.

Double click on a button for which you want the code. That opens an edit window. Mouse over the name of the command in the edit window and double click on it. Another window opens. Near the bottom of that window is a box labeled "View." Double click on that and you'll see the hex codes. Copy and paste. You won't have to hit "View" again during that session. In fact, in the NG software, if you can move that entire edit window on the computer screen so that it does not obscure the list of commands, you can just click on the next command for which you want the hex code.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
