I wrote in to complain that TVO HD is cable-only and not OTA. While their response was basically we don't give a damn about you OTAers, it didn't give any indication there is any "plan" in the works about converting.
Working collaboratively with the industry and the CRTC, we will be providing viewers with comprehensive public education on how to access TVO’s off-air high definition signal once plans are finalized.
I think this "plan" will be to call your local cable or satellite provider. I'm going out on a limb and predict TVO will disappear from OTA. I hope I'm wrong, but I haven't seen any indication this won't be the end result.
Chatted to a friend who works at TVZero. The Digital upgrades are going along very well inside their operations. The links to other markets are are being converted, the last to go will be the transmitters.
TVO announced tonight that the Toronto station will transition overnight on Thursday, August 18th (early morning). 1am analog goes down, 6am signon on digital 19.1
