I noticed the small blurb about these channels and was wondering...

Not having had cable for quite some time, in fact the old house I bought doesn't even have a cable feed coming into it. If I call Cogeco (I'm in Burlington) and have them hook me up with their basic minimum package, my Pioneer Kuro will scan and find all those channels?
It would be nice to add a few channels to the OTA HD channels I get.

Depends. If they put a filter on the line - and they likely would since you wouldn't be getting all the analogs - then they'll most likely be filtered out too.
