We have had a Panasonic TV/VCR Combo, model pv-v2542 for a few years. We recently moved and had Direct TV installed. The problem is, I now have to use two remotes. The codes that Direct TV has don't apply to combo sets, so I have to use the Panasonic remote to turn the set on/off, and the DTV remote for watching shows, etc. The DTV remote does not work the vcr. Any suggestions?

If you have a rc64 white directv remote, try code 11919 on the tv device.

If you have any other white directv remotes, try codes 21062, 20035, 20162, 20077, 20102, 20225, 20614, 20616, 21035, 21162, 21262, and 21807 on either AV1 or AV2 devices. If any power the combo using the middle power key (PWR) in that device, to get the volume and punch it through to all devices:

1. av1 or av2
2. press and hold MUTE & SELECT for two blinks
3. enter 9 9 3
4. press SELECT

If you have to use vcr code, then you have to abandon the tv device, and that includes the TV ON & OFF keys.

I can't thank you enough! I had to use av1 on my rc64 dtv remote, along with code 21062 to make this work. now it all works with the one remote, as intended.
