Seems though finding OTA based PVR's is very difficult, most retailers only have satellite or cable compatable ones, but that's another thread for another time.

Check out the Channel Master PAL DVR. I've sold several of them off my web-site at HDAntennaStore.com

We notice a dislocation on city 57 of the sound and audio.

The channel master pal dvr at 400 price tag seems to be too expensive , you might as well get the (AZbox Prem+HD) FTA satellite receiver for 400 cad + 50 cad for an ATSC tuner card + 80 cad for 500GB HDD and you have a dual tuner dual system full DVR that also allows you to watch and record not only free OTA HDTV but also free satellite TV, Dont you think?.

Well you could buy other satellite receivers that also has ATSC tuners and PVR capabilities off ebay for 100 dollars and acomplish something very similar as well.

I barely watch CHCH, but I'm going to have to add them to my list of channels that mangle audio. Been watching Chuck, and while I know that Chuck's sound isn't perfect even on NBC, it's incredibly muffled on CHCH. Kind of sounds like you're listening to something in a large tile bathroom, and all you get is a general din of noise, but you can't quite make anything out.

So, CH, Global and City. Things aren't looking good overall for Canadian stations giving a damn.

So the question is how is the sound quality on their cable/satellite based services?. Is it ok, then I guess they are complying with the CRTC rulling that says that a BDU can not degrade quality of the programming they receive, lol. They are acctually improving it then!, lol.

Bravo! Another Chuck fan.

I emailed CITY - TV a couple of times about the quality of their signal and they seemed to believe that there was positively nothing wrong with anything. The emails seemed to infer that OTA viewers were rather insignificant. Maybe they need a few more emails.

What are tech emails addresses for Ontario channels?

Talk about audio on CITY TV, regular show programs seem to be OK but last week or so, their voice vs music background on their 6 pm newscast intro was way out of sync, music drowned out the voice. Once music gone, voice was ok.
