Can anyone help me go wireless with this RC32RF remote with the Direct TV R15 Direct TV Plus DVR receiver?
No one from the Direct TV company or technicians can figure it out. I have had 4 technicians to my home and everyone is baffled. They can get the DVR to work but can't get it to go wireless.
I see that Edmund is the bomb... I am hoping that he sees this and can help.

I don't know who Edmund is but if he isn't a millionaire by now then he is missing his boat. Direct TV came to my house for the 5th time with a Premiere tech to install the R15 with RF remote only to say that it could not be done. The tech was on the phone with a level 2 tech support with Direct TV and told the in house technician that it could not be done at this time. After blogging Edmund a few days ago and printing his response on how to do the process, I asked the tech "Are you 100% positive?" He said "Maam, I am the highest level tech for my company and I was just on the phone with my supervisor and a level 2 tech support with Direct TV and I guarantee you, it can't be done at this time. I will even show you the manual that says that it is for future use only"
Well, Edmund I pulled out the paper and did the step by step of your instructions and Wah Lah! It worked!!!!!!!!!! Direct Tv and Premeire (sp.??) owe you a BIG FAT FEE! The tech asked for the paper to do a remote training for his next week tech meeting. This is pitiful!
You are the BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill Gates............................Hire this guy would you???? Thank you SOOOOO Much

This is a very old thread, but a new problem for me. I want to be able to control a DVR that is in another room, while I am in the backyard. I bought a "RF" remote (looks exactly the same to me) from Directv and even the little antenna. I can't find where to plug the antenna into and the remote doesn't work when I use the code you showed. Please help!!

What is the model # of the Directv dvr do you have? Newer models have a built-in Rf antenna, like the R16 or R22.
All R15's have terminal on the back for external Rf antenna.

Hi edmund! I have a R15 300 and recall a small silver antenna on the back of my receiver. So I'm reading this tread thinking I can follow your programming steps and get the receiver to work without direct line of sight?
FYI- before finding this I spoke with DTV and they said I needed an upgrade from R15 to R16. When I read this thread it spiked a memory of the silver antenna.
Only thing is I may need to purchase the new remote to send the RF signal. I'll try this tonight, but just curious if you know the R15 300 series would work with your same steps. Thanks and great post!
