I have just recently had a comcast box installed in my home and I got the new 3 in one remote. I have an older Emerson tv model # EWC19t2 It is a combo tv/dvd/vcr set. I would like to have the comcast remote be able to control the tv, but I can't figure out the universal code. I have read all the instructions and even searched the forums ... can anyone help me out here?

Tv/dvd combo use a dvd codeset and not a tv, so searching tv codes fails. Try dvd code 0821.

Thanks for the heads up, but that code didn't work.

Any other suggestions?

Bump ... I've tried the DVD code, it didn't work. I can't find anymore Emmerson DVD codes to try with the ComCast remote.

Any other suggestions?

Not sure what that means exactly.

You need to dump the cable oem remote, get a true universal remote. One that can be taught the commands from the emerson oem remote, by putting the remotes head to head, and teaching each and every command from emerson tv remote.

A cheap learning remote is the sony rm-vl600, can purchased at walmart or target, $25.

Whats interesting is I have an Emerson EWC19T1 and this code actually worked...to an extent. The comcast remote will only let you program this code on the Aux channel which will not support the volume up/down. When you do press the volume button it automatically switches to the TV channel.
Does anyone know a way to tell the comcast remote to stay on the aux channel when adjusting the volume?

The power works fine though.

This is annoying because I have tried every possible listed emerson code to FINALLY find this one that half works.

With AUX code 0821 programmed in try the following to get the volume:

1. aux
2. press and hold SET/SETUP for two blinks
3. enter 9 9 3
4. press VOL UP
