Please help me. I need a remote code for an old RCA TV model FJR479WR to work with a Comcast DCT700. I have searched all my archives and cannot find a match.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I tried RCA, Proscan, GE, Panasonic, Magnavox codes as well as the remote built-in code search feature. No luck with any of them. This RCA TV is about 20 years old and I guess there are no codes in the current remotes. Thanks for the try.
If anyone has any suggestions please offer them. I am willing to try anything except using an extra remote. I want it to work with my Comcast remote.

A cheap learning remote, such as a One-For-All or the Sony RM-VL600, would work, provided you have the original TV remote.

Then again, a 20 year old RCA TV may not have come with a remote control. Believe it or not, IR remote control was only beginning around that time, and TVs back then had to be channel changed MANUALLY, at the TV!

No...20 years ago was 1987...I'm pretty sure it had some kind of remote. 25 years, that's pushing it, but 20 years ago they had remotes.

Actually it was manufactured in June of 1983. And I do have the original RCA remote. It does not work well but it does work. As you can imagine my main needs for my Comcast remote is to merely power the RCA TV on and off. I(f only there was a code.

What is the model number of the tv, I may have an old RCA manual for a VCR that contains the codes, if I can find the manual, I'll let you know.
