My mother has the Comcast remote with the red select button. We just got basic digital cable with the small converter box and that remote came with it. What does your remote look like? She is old and is having a difficult time with all the buttons. I am trying to find a simpler remote for her to use. I would talk to one of the installers. They know more than the people behind the counter.

I just received a new Cox remote and the 1610 code works. My other two remotes are made in China (code did not work). The new one is made in Indonesia. It's printed on the back of the remote. The code works on that one. This has been driving me crazy for awhile. Hope this helps.

i've tried using the following codes 11144, 11240, 11331 and 11610 with my comcast remote and none have worked. the first 3 give me the 2 blinks while signal that the code went through cleanly but it still doesn't work. has anyone been able to program their remotes to their Tv? i have a 747i

Well the first 3 codes are useless, you need code 11610, but its not in your remote. Time for a new remote.

the following Radio shack remotes are on sale half priced, 15-133, 15-134, and 15-135. each has code 11610 on board. And of course will work with your cable box.

Can someone please tell me which model Cox remote works with the Olevia 337 series TV? Or I guess, which Cox remote has the code 1610 in it? I am using the Comcast Motorola HD Cable box in Philly! Thanks

My Comcast remote also needs 5 digit codes. I tried code 11610, but the remote rejected the code. Numerous inquries to Olevia and Comcast lead nowhere, they both pointed the finger at each other. I purchased a universal HDTV remote from Radio Shack model 15-135 for $23.53. It works, and the code for the tv was 11610. The remote has all the features of the Comcast remote, so everything works with one remote. Only complaint is the buttons are a little small.

Ok, it's been a while since this thread was started. Is this radio shack solution real? I've had this piece of crap Olevia 237 for 2 years, and the remotes just made me insane. Especiallly since the Olevia remote is starting to now fail, and muting or volume can take forever to activate. $20 is a small priced to pay, if it works. Will I finally be able to use one remote for comcast DVR and Olevia? ALl that was needed was a remote that supports 11610?

Waiting for confirmation, and I'm down to radio shack in an instant.

ALSO: Elsewhere in this thread
"He also told me that all the new all-in-one brand remotes
will work going forward as they have added the code to
the latest code base. Here is a picture of the remote
you want."

Which All-In-One does he mean? That's a generic term that many manufacturers use. Which one do I want? UEI?

First, Radio shack remotes like 15-133, 134, or 135 have code 11610, not every remote sold at radio shack will work, like philips ones.

Equipment manufacturers can not assure you that it will be in every remote going forward, they can stop from being it though.

Other remotes with the current Olevia code is the R6 & WR7 from URC.

And a new RCA remote at best buy is RCRP05B, also uses code 1610.
