I tried both of the Comcast remotes, 4 and 5 digit and neither worked. The Cox remote is a 4 digit and it controls the Olevia TV and the Motorola settop including all of the DVR features. All is good. I don't know anything about the Radio Shack remotes. BTW, I bought both of my Cox remotes on ebay for about $25 combined with shipping. Great price and no more hassles.

I just bought the Radio Shack remote (15-135) last night (on sale right now for $14.99) and it works perfectly with code 11610 for my 232V. My wife was about to kill me because the kids weren't using the newly finished basement because they couldn't get the Comcast remote to ever control everything. Hooray for Radio Shack!

Does anyone know a code that will work with the Comcast
Remote for the Olevia TV line?

There are no working codes. I bought a logitec Harmony 520 for $79.95 at BJ's warehouse. It controls everything I own including the Olevia 237T. Easy to use via computer and internet a 10 year old could program it. It also repairs issues on the fly while you are at the tv and remembers them for the future.

So it appears that the Radio Shack 15-135 remote works with the Olevia 232V TV's. Before I buy this remote, I just wanted to make sure it works with the Comcast Scientific Atlanta Digital Boxes. Anyone using this remote with a Scientific Atlanta box? I looked at the remote control users manual and it lists numerous codes for the scientific atlanta boxes, but just wanted to make sure before I pick this up. Thanks.

I did buy the 15-135 and it does work with my Olevia 232V and Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD box. Two issues with the remote though...
The DVR function likes to use buttons "A" "B" and "C". This remote does not have those buttons. Also, there is no extra buttons to "learn" the page up and page down for the TV Guide portion.

I have also tried the Scientific Atlanta red select button 5 code remote, but I could not get it to work with my Olevia TV nor the Scientific Atlanta box...but it does work with my old sharp tv.

I have the Olevia 537H LCD TV and was unable to find a
remote that worked. Via my work with Comcast, I was able
to visit the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas
two weeks ago. I dropped into the company that makes
the Comcast remotes and they were no help. Then I found
the Olevia booth and an engineer in there showed me a
remote that Cox Cable uses that has the right codes to
support the 537H TV. I took a picture of the remote with
my phone and immediately went to ebay to find one. I
purchased two and guess what, the 1610 code works. He
also told me that all the new all-in-one brand remotes
will work going forward as they have added the code to
the latest code base. Here is a picture of the remote
you want
. Good luck.

I just bought that Cox remote on ebay. It looks exactly the same, but something must be different because that 1610 code doesn't work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What is the model # of your olevia? Did you get two blinks after entering the fourth digit in the code 1610?

I hate to burst everyone's bubble about the comcast remote red select button theory, but the color of that button has nothing to do with it being the newer remote...it's the patent number on the back....one of our old digital remotes has the red select button and the remote we just rec'd with one of our hd converter boxes has a grey select button, but it has a higher patent number. We got the newer remotes with the 3 hd converter boxes we picked up and only one of the remotes works with any of our tvs. One of the old digital remotes was the only one that would work with our new Sony Bravia HDTV hooked up to the converter box. The one thing everyone is correct about, is comcast not knowing anything...period. Older and newer remotes both made in china but by different manufactures...you can tell by the codes inside where the batteries are. They must all get different uploaded coding info, which would explain why some work and others don't. None worked with our Olevia's either. If you have any techno gurus around, I would try doing what that one person said about getting a cable to hook up the remote to the computer and downloading the current codes. Otherwise get a learning remote. Not too many choices.

I have a Sony RM-V210 remote. It cost around $20 and it works with my Olivia 32 and 42 inch TV's with the Comcast basic and Hi Def cable boxes by Motorola. Everything works, all of the menu choices, everything.

I have a Olevia #227 and have a brand new Comcast remote with 5 digit codes for the Olevia TVs. None of them work. I have emailed Comcast and they point the finger at Olevia and I've emailed Olevia and they point the finger at Comcast.
I would love to get a universal remote that works with everything but I don't think one exists. I just went onto the Logitech Harmony 100 site and they don't even list Olevia. It's a great TV but what's up with this code issue.

Update:
Logitech Harmony and other universal remotes list their codes for the Olevia TV's under the Syntax-Brillian name. So, if you get one of these Logitech universal remotes it should solve the problem.

This is taken directly from the Olevia website. None of them happen to work for my older 4 digit remote, but maybe you'll get lucky. I'm thinking that the 1610 code would work for me, but it isn't recognized by my remote, and I don't want to pay for a cable to upgrade the software so will suffer with two remotes for now -

The radio shack 15-133 is on sale now for $15, it has olevia code 11610 on board. It has backilighting too. Other RS remote with code 11610 are 15-134 $30 and 15-135 $20.

Only newer UEI made remotes have code 1610 or 11610.
