Hi i'm intrested in buying a front projector so i can have a big picture, i'm on a $3000 budget would like it to be hdtv, or hdtv ready. Please any suggestions appreciated

The SONY VPHD50HTU is a High Definition front projector with data grade capabilities up to 1280 x 1024. Also has multiple inputs for S and composite video and line doubling built in. SONY also has the Vph90 which has more still, the biggest feature there though is the DRC circuit which doesn't just double the image horizontally, it doubles it both horizontally and vertically at a pixel level. Although I very much wanted the DRC circuit, I went with the VPHD50htu do to the price.

THE sony VPHD50htu is $13,000 with the line doubler.
The sharpvision 99 is HD ready and looks good for an LCD it is about $6,000
The Sharpvision z1 is $3,500 and looks good! About the size of the average yellow pages,very bright and very cool!
not HD but it has component video! As HD ready as most sets being sold!

You must consider the sony 400q. I put one in a year ago. Paid about $3500 plus $700 for an electic 119 dia. wide screen. Could not be happier. I did it all thru web and installed myself.

Just because it has component video inputs does that mean it is HD tv ready?
IF so is any tv with component video inputs hd ready????

Installation was very easy. This is an lcd projector - so its very portable and easy to setup. First step is to track down a hareware program by sony called pjcalc. This lets you determine what screen size is best in the room you will use. I am not professional - just someone who wanted a $30 grand system and went thru the research. I probably have less then $5k in and blow away some $15 k systems.

sorry.. but there is nothing in the 3,000. range for a HD front projector. The Mitsubishi 50805 50" rear projetion TV is priced at 3,000.
