I'm new to this and probably I'm asking something stupid.
Well, I have DishNetwork receiver 5000 and the 500 Dish with a signal strength in the 87% neighborhood connected to a regular JVC TV using S-Video. I notice that sometimes the colors on the TV brigthen for a very short period of time and go back to a "normal?" more shaded color. I notice this watching "Who wants to be a millionaire". I think they use color reflectors that make the change more obvious. I have noticed it more in my local channels.
Is my receiver damaged? Is this normal? What is it?
Thanks to the Gurus out there.

Ulises, Do you also notice a symbol down in the lower left hand corner of the screen when this happens? (looks like a sun) If so, this is normal. It is caused by some equipment that cleans up the local feeds video. I see it periodically on the Denver locals. Doug

Just for the record.
I looked closely and I found the symbol you talked about. Kind of annoying way to "clean" the signal by "messing" the colors.
Thanks again Doug
