Anybody know a manufacturer of LCD TV Monitors that accept HDCP signal via DVI or HDMI connection that don't have built-in speakers and NTSC/ATSC tuners?

I hate spending money on (crappy) speakers and unused tuners if I don't have to.

Certainly I'm not the only one who uses a surround processor and room speakers and not the speakers that come with the TV! Also, if my TV source is a DirecTV HD-DVR with OTA tuner, I don't need another tuner in the TV.

I know there are PC monitors that are available in 16:9 HD but they won't have HDCP so I'd have to use a component-to-VGA adapter which means I could not use the HDMI output on the DirecTV DVR or on a DVD player with HDMI.

Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

That's fine for today, but without HDCP I may be limited in what I can receive, or the programming will be down-rezzed, and Blu-Ray HD and/or HD-DVD won't work

BD and HD-DVD have both left the ICT issue (whether HD is output on component) to the studios. The flag that decides whether this is allowed is on the disc. I just read this morning that the last (I think last) major studio, Universal, says they will NOT prevent this. Should not be as much of a problem as we once thought.

I don't think there are any large LCD TVs without speakers. Plasmas will come that way, or you may find some with removable speakers. You'll probably just have to ignore them. Maybe find a model with them on the bottom, they seem less intrusive that way.

All TVs will eventually have the tuner. It will be a non-factor in price soon, just like NTSC tuners have been for decades. Another thing you will soon be able to ignore without prejudice if you want.

Unless you want a projector. They would fit that description. Lots of fun, too.
