I have a scientific atlanta hd dvr with a at8550 remote. I'm trying to teach the remote to turn on my dvd player/receiver. I have a Samsung dvd/receiver and there is no code for my dvd/receiver. I did the 991 search and nothing worked. Can someone help me figure out why my remote won't find the right code?

SA remotes do not control all devices even within the same brand. Have you tried codes: 0490, 0573, 0744 yet? Most likely if you have performed the codesearch properly the remote will not work the device.
I'm assuming you have already tried codes: 2117, 2118, 2119, 2144
