I have a specialized satelite service ( RTN, racing information ) that supllies it programming with Dish 2800 receivers. I finally added a 2nd receiver to my exisitng one. Both are in same room and I would prefer they be pretty much right next to each other

Problem is the supplied Dish remotes appear to be non-addressable ( I also have 2 Dish 4700/4900 receivers in a regular Dish setup that are addressable )

I would like to avoid the conflict created by new 2nd receiver. Either remote now changing both receivers.

Thanks,
Rick

All receivers have the ability to use 15 different codes. Would need more information on the remote control. Some use the address button at bottom, and some use the 4 buttons at the top of the remote by holding down untill all lite and then pushing new code example 02 and then # sign.

I don't believe the remotes that come with the RTN 2800 receivers are either you mention. They don't have the 4 buttons at top, or an address button. On the back the remote label says " 1.5 NBD, Echostar, 100840 "

I do have 2 additional Dish remotes for my regular Dish Satellite. They are remotes for 4700 receivers, have the 4 buttons you mention, and are both UHF/IR remotes. Perhaps the 4700 remotes could be used??
Thanks,
Rick

Yes they should be able to be used instead. Can you get the receiver on the system page? Go to menu, then select 6, then 1, then 3. This should place you on the system page. It should show you what your IR code is, probably 1. Hold the sat button at the top untill all lights at top flash. press 02 then pound. This may change the code, but I seem to remember that you have to press record button. Hope this helps
