Hi - I am a newcomer to this forum and a user, not a tech, so please be gentle.
That said: I am trying to find a universal remote to control both halves of a Dish Network 625 PVR/Sat Box.
I have the box connected to 2 separate inputs on a single TV, so I can watch PxP. The box come with 2 separate remotes, neither of which control all the functions of my TV (or the Denon receiver that is also hooked up to the TV).
The first remote is IR, but the second is "UHF" - does that mean I cannot replace the second one with a standard universal remote?
Right now, I am juggling 4 remotes. My wife wants to kill me. Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

SD,
It was the Dish Player-DVR 942 that I was interested in.
Sorry and I hope you got an answer elsewhere.

SD, I have the same receiver and have tested with both the Harmony 659 and the 880 model.
The anwser to your question would lie in your ulitmate usage of the remote. The Dish Network DVR 625 comes with 2 remotes and 2 outputs. Each output is controlled by each remote respectively in dual mode.
I am using the receiver in Dual mode (secondary output is uhf controlled) but I could set it up in single mode to perform a similar PIP config as you do. I would recommend that you take a shot with a Harmony. If you purchase through Amazon you have an unconditional return policy as long as it's within 30 days. Run it through the gamut and if you don't like it send it back.
You may be able to get away with one of the mid (non color screen) models specifically designed for PVR/DVR usage like say the 676 or 680 model.
In my 880 model, the device mode for the Dish DVR shows the functions to perform the PIP operations. That being the case you can fully customize it to have your preferred functions on screen and easily controllable.
I hope this helps.
