I recently purchased a Home Theatre System, and wanted one remote. The sound system is Sony with an RCA TV and RCA Directv. I purchased an RCA universal remote, I was able to program the Sony Home Theatre but the problem is as follows. I hit the TV button and move through the Inputs to get to Directv on Video Input for better picture. I then hit the Cbl/Sat button to control the directv, the problem is this causes the TV to move off the video to the cable input. Is there anyway around this, would a different remote help ?????

That how RCa remotes work, yes getting another remote would solve your problem. A non RCA remote.

The Sony RMV-402 works great for controling video inputs. The downside was the menu button is now the OK button for Directv, but thats not hard to remember.
