I recently bought the above tv from Argos. I bought a teletext tv so that I could operate the tv to view the "proper" teletext, and then switch on the freeview to view the various extra channels.

I seem unable to work out how to tune it in separately so that I can do this. I had thought I would simply tune in the tv without the decoder connected, and then tune the decoder in to a specific channel (say 8), but so far have been unsucessful. I can get the decoder tuned in when connected, but if I switch it off I then cannot use the tv in "normal" mode thus cannot use the teletext at all.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I think you will do much better pursuing this with the manufacturers or the people you bought these things from (tell me you didn't buy this over the internet...)

I am tempted to say "what does the manual say," but I have to assume you checked it out thoroughly.

Please supply model numbers. I can't imagine that Mikomi makes only one model of LCD TV, and if one of us is to give advice, we have to know that we are talking about the correct model. Oh, yes, of the freeview decoder, too. If freeview a brand or a concept, or perhaps both? I see from google that I can choose from more than a million things to look at information on "freeview," so that is a bit wide of a net to cast!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Assuming that you have your aerial connected first to the RF in of the Freeview receiver, then the RF out to the TV.

This being the case, then the Freeview receiver must be shutting down the RF signal when in standby. Answer; leave it on! I know this sounds obvious or even silly, but it would solve your problem. Power draw from the FV receiver will be fairly negligible. When you want to watch FV you just tune to "8". Your FV box could be faulty or just a design fault.

EBG; Freeview is the terrestrial digital broadcast system for the UK using MPEG-2 compression with over 30 FTV channels. No subs, just buy a box from £ 40-£300.
Sticking to what I'm good at.
