hello,

I live about 45-50 miles from the TV stations I am trying to receive. I really do not want to put up an outdoor antenna because I don't want to have to run the wires, etc. Are there any good indoor HDTV antennas for this range. I have a Terk HDTVa antenna not but it isn't so hot, even after properly alligning it. Recommendations PLEASE!

Hmm, I don't think there are many (or even any) "tabletop" antennas that are going to meet that distance criteria. And even with a "full sized" antenna, placing it indoors or in an attic halves its effective range compared to being outdoors.

What size of antenna are you really looking for?

It will be a pain in the ass to run an antenna wire to where my television is, so I wanted to at least keep the antenna near the TV. Any other options?

Hey guy..im going thru the same thing as you are...and Daniel has been a terrific help..sad but true is the fact that without a outside antenna you arent going to get a good signal..i tried the terk and another RS indoor one..looked like a flying saucer..and im only 5 miles with no obstuctions from the local towers..the terk just plain sucked ..the other was ok but still didnt pull in a strong signal..bottom line is when it gets warm again im running cable outside to a DB-2 from antennas direct..good medium range antenna..and being so close i am going to try it indoors first....good luck, but being so far away from your towers i wouldnt be optimistic on a indoor one..by the way..that DB-2..isnt all that big.. www.antennasdirect.com

The best indoor antennas for HDTV I've found are the Radio Shack 15-1880 and the Terk TV5. I would give them a try if you haven't yet.

The best indoor antenna i've found is the Zenith silver sensor. For the money it's the best i've used. I can get similar if not better signal w/ this than by outdoor antenna. I do however live very close to my local fox tower. I even picked up WNYB in Jamestown with this thing- It's Great!

Jim..i tried the terk version of this antenna and it was terrible..now ive read some reviews stating that the terk, although it looks similar, acually exactly like it..is just a rip off design and yet the zenith just is so much better..and at half the price..any one care to comment?

I'm getting all of my local major networks -abc,cbs,nbc and fox, pbs right now with this unit w/ med to strong signal. I tried a few terk antennas also (they are junk!). Again so far this one's the best i've used.
