I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 from Time Warner Cable. When I press play to watch a on demand channel the box just turns itself off. However today I was able to watch News14Carolina on demand but none of the other OnDemand channels work.

I've had that once or twice... but not repeatedly. Scientific Atlanta products tend to have a lot of bugs...

Never tried a Motorola, but it seems there's always something quirky going on with my 8300HD. The worst part is when it says it's going to record something but doesn't - even after the recording slot has completely passed it STILL says it's going to record it!
