364 days after my last replacement(that was #3), the HDMI output went goofy. This was a few days after the unit started rebooting all by itself every half hour.

D* shipped me another unit 2nd day fedex-- it came in a smashed up box-- no double boxing, no padding, just the 2 pieced of syrofoam! How do any of them survive?

Have yet to try to set this one up,but I was told that if it was a day later, they wouldn't have honored the warranty-- also told that NY area will be getting new receivers after the new year for mpeg4 HD stuff!

Anyone in Detroit using the new units yet?

Have you seen the big discussion thread of the new NDS DVR (SD version) over at the Tivo Community? Looks pretty adequate, not quite as with it as the Tivos, but probably better than Tivo was when first introduced. The HD version is supposed to be identical for basic DVR functions.

These HDTivos aren't much different over component, if at all. Maybe you should just use that.
