Ok so I bought a rack off of ebay. Mounted on my wall right now... bud is coming over tomorrow so we can get started on running phone lines around.... and NIC drops...

ok so our TeleComm guy at work said his bud just got a RF (coax) patch panel that fits in a full rack.... you plug 1 in and get a mess out.. already amplified too.. anyone know where one may find one of these? he is going to ask his friend.. but doesnt see him much.... I do have the 48 port QuickPort unit... so i can buy the quickports and use splitters and all.. but want a cleaner look...
thanks
Jeff

For antenna, cable or satellite? It's called a distribution amp for antenna, a bigass multiswitch for satellite, and I'm not sure about cable...maybe still a distribution amp. Search for those.

Well I dunno.. I am not familiar with the naming of this stuff... I have basic cable tv... 1 line in from the cable company.... to a spliter and through the house.... and the splitter being on the outside of the house is now bad (I didnt put it there.. home builders did).... so I am going to bring all 4 wires into the house and run them into the utility room...

oh also I dont post much here but I recently bought a patch panel off of ebay.. I posted it here..

anyway... now I will have all my phone lines going here.... network lines... and cable tv lines....

next is to figure out what is needed to pipe the pc to it and put speakers in rooms.... and the sort..... I LOVE THIS STUFF but not knowlegeable in it which makes it dangerous cuz I always spend money on the harder ways to do things....

thanks
Jeff

\Try Channel Plus.

The post above about an amplifier is good advise.

RF systems out of the box for multi zones and outputs rarely work. Be careful and get some good tech advice from Channel Plus or Channel Vision,

Thanks.... wish I would have seen channel vision first.. at least I got a deal on what I got and will still be cheaper for me.... however my bud is putting something like this in his spare bedroom.... he has a bi-level house and rooms in the basement... thus 1 bedroom has the electrical panel... so the channel vision is gonna look saweet there!!!!

An FM modulator is a great way to distribute audio throughout you house. It is wireless, and you only need any FM radio to receive. This modulators output is set with dip-switches to any channel in the FM band. It is easily good for 200' around your house

This is a kit, but I am sure you can find one built:

I still havent figured out what im going to do yet.. my temporary solution is that I just put a few splitters in and made a few cables... the lines I have ran off of this is nice and clear thus far... gonna do something after June...
my goal for this year is organize my garage, get my home automation server in this rack and get some more lines ran out of this rack.....
I still have catv cables to clean up as I only spooled them.... also need a network mount switch so I can get those lines patched in.... but it is alot cleaner!!!!
